West Ham, Crystal Palace and Arsenal lose hope of signing £10m Chelsea star target Destro
MONACO are on the verge of signing Roma wantaway Mattia Destro.
According to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, Destro will meet with Monaco representatives today to finalise his long-awaited move.
A deal between the two parties collapsed earlier this month due to a disagreement over a proposed fee.
Monaco were keen to pay Roma £2m in performance related add-ons rather than fork-out the arranged £10.7m fee - a proposition that aggravated the Italians.
But after negotiations it appears the deal has been revived and Destro will sign for the French outfit in the very near future.
The news will crush West Ham, who had hoped to bolster their attacking ranks with the Italian international.
Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Chelsea have all been linked with Destro at some stage in the past 12 months, but interest never materialised into a firm offer.
Destro hinted at an exit long before the season had ended, he said: "It's right the coach does his evaluations, at the end of the season I'll do mine."

Good opportunity for Elliot lee now. Sakho out suspended, every striker seems too expensive right now.
That's just him and Valencia as forwards at the moment.

West Ham are closing in on the signing of Italian international striker Mattia Destro this summer.
Roma’s sporting director Walter Sabatini is flying into London tonight to negotiate a deal.
West Ham are closing in on the signing of AS Roma striker Mattia Destro this summer.
The Italian international was set to join West Ham on loan after a deal was reportedly agreed last week, with the player willing to come to the Premier League.
However it was then claimed that Ligue 1 side AS Monaco has beaten West Ham to his signature after agreeing a permanent transfer for the striker.
Gazzetta dello Sport were reporting that the French side had agreed a €15m (£10.7m) transfer for the 25-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at AC Milan, but only scored three in 15 for the club.
This evening, Italian football journalist Emanuele Guilianelli has reported that Roma’s sporting director Walter Sabatini is flying into London this evening to hold talks with West Ham tomorrow for his transfer.

Mattia Destro has never found the right feeling with the AS Roma square, despite a scoring average always good young striker Marche has continuously been in the good graces of the fans; the leadership was convinced to give it so: after deals West Ham and Fiorentina, Roma have reached an agreement with Monaco for a figure of around 12 million euro.
However in the last hours the deal appears to have stalled: according to a first version of events would be the former Siena to refuse to transfer land in Monaco; in the last hour but has made its way the rumor that the Monaco was not to be revealed to the deal, probably stronger than an even unknown to most.

He's a decent young striker and seems to score goals.
He's scored 41 in 75 starts for Roma which, in theory, would return around 20 goals if he started all our 38 league games.
My only problem is this will be another obstacle for Elliot Lee who I would love to see involved in the first team this season.
